Betty J. Andrews

     Betty J. Soard Andrews, age 78 of Webb City, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

     Born December 7, 1931 in Neosho, she was the daughter of the late Claude Soard and Lillie Ellen Davenport Soard and lived in the Webb City area most of her lifetime. She attended Webb City schools, worked in clothing factories and as a babysitter, and later, home health care.

     In addition to her parents, seven sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

     On July 8, 1974, she married Bobbie R. (Andy) Andrews at Miami, OK. He survives.

     Additional survivors include four sons, David Bailey and wife Julie of Tulsa, OK, Robert Bailey and wife Marsha of Springfield, Ronald Bailey of Clayton, AL, Billy Bailey and Melisha of Joplin; seven daughters, Dixie Carter and husband Jim of Diana, TX, Frances Boyd of Webb City, Debbie Stout and husband Steve of Ritchey, Cheryl Keough and husband Port of Joplin, Karen Martin and Floyd of Karnack, TX, Amy

Gooden and husband Lance of Webb City, Tracey Spradlin and husband David of Duenweg; three brothers, Ernest Soard and wife Phyllis of Joplin, Jimmy Soard and wife Norma of Webb City, Kenny Soard and wife Donna of Carthage; 26 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

     Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
